Our Pastoral Staff
Pastor JD Shanahan
“Knowing Jesus, not just knowing about Jesus.” That thought came out of a conversation during a mid-week Bible study. It struck me as a profound thought and a great way to sum up the concept of discipleship! It has become our driving thought as we seek to serve Billings as a community of faith.
I believe that intentional discipleship and practical theology are necessary for our day and time. Far too often, the church has made both discipleship and theology seem like something for the elite…I believe that everyone should be able to experience and understand both.
We would love for you to join us on this journey we call life. We don’t promise to have all the answers, but we do promise to help you find God’s fingerprints as you ask your questions.
Pastor Katie Miller
Pastor Katie joined the staff at New Hope Naz in August of 2018, relocating from Phoenix, AZ.
She loves kids and is called to help them know Jesus and grow deep spiritual roots that will help them throughout their lives.
She attended Nazarene Bible College and was ordained as an elder in 2016. She and Bob have been married 18 years and have 5 children.
In addition to loving Jesus and kids, she loves bright colors, fun earrings, and funky socks!
Pastor Will McDaniel
Pastor Will and his beautiful bride, Miss Ginger, joined the family at New Hope Naz in October 2019, relocating from Bowling Green, OH. A Christian comedian and illusionist, Pastor Will first visited Billings in 2010 when he was brought out for a regional ministry event.
He was here again in 2016 as the speaker for New Hope Naz’s men’s retreat. Before he and Miss Ginger were headed home to Ohio, Pastor JD asked him, “What would it take for you to move here and serve as our Youth Pastor?”
The answer? About 3 1/2 years. That’s how long it took for God to put everything in place. Doors flew open and it was clear that it was time to move.
Pastor Will has the heart of a kid. He loves pizza and showing teens who Jesus is and how they can grow closer to God everyday.
